Davao City to Host 40th Kadayawan Invitational Basketball Tournament

Davao City is set to light up the hardcourt as the City Mayor’s Office, in partnership with The Royal Mandaya Hotel and Madayaw Sports Davao, proudly presents the 40th Kadayawan Invitational Basketball Tournament.

The highly anticipated event will take place from August 21 to 24, 2025, at the University of Southeastern Philippines (USEP) Gym in Obrero, with games scheduled daily from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Admission is free, giving basketball fans a chance to witness professional-level competition at no cost.

Adding to the excitement, four powerhouse teams from the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) will be showcasing their talent and grit: the Phoenix Super LPG Fuelmasters, NLEX Road Warriors, Converge FiberXers, and Blackwater Bossing.

The tournament is expected to deliver thrilling matchups, high-intensity plays, and a showcase of some of the country’s finest basketball talents. Organizers are encouraging Dabawenyos to pack the gym, bring their energy, and support the teams as they battle for pride and glory in the heart of the city.

The event forms part of the 40th Kadayawan Festival celebration, highlighting sports as a unifying force for the community and an integral part of Davao’s vibrant cultural festivities.
