Dabawenyos looking for more space to stay active can now enjoy a longer Car-Free Sunday route as the City Government of Davao officially opened the stretch from the Roxas portion of the Coastal Road to Bago Coastal Road.
The expanded route, which began operating on July 26, 2026, is open every Sunday from 4 a.m. to 8 a.m. The initiative, implemented through the Davao City Sports Development Office (SDD), is intended to provide a wider and safer space for wellness and recreational activities.
The newly opened route allows more cyclists, runners, joggers, walkers, and other fitness enthusiasts to take advantage of the city’s open spaces. The expansion gives everyone greater access to the area and expressed hope that participants will continue to follow the established Car-Free Sunday guidelines.
To help ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone, the City Government reminds participants to observe proper lane discipline, be courteous and respectful to fellow users, refrain from racing or engaging in unsafe activities, and help keep the area clean.
Dabawenyos are encouraged to make the most of the expanded route, highlighting that it is free and provides another opportunity for residents to stay active and healthy.
By extending the Car-Free Sunday route, the City Government continues to strengthen its efforts to promote an active lifestyle while providing a safe, accessible, and inclusive public space for the community.
